Barcelona Free Wi Fi Announcement

Barcelona Free WiFi

Barcelona Adjument (City Council) is rolling out it´s programme of free WiFi (or Wi Fi) allowing people with mobile devices such as laptops Personal Digital Assistants, i-phones, netbooks, blackberrys etc to connect for free to the Internet. Using a system of antennaes or "WiFi Hot spots" to allow access many parts of the city already have coverage. 170 hot spots in Barcelona are working and soon there will be a total of some 500 hot spots.

Connection o the Internet

This system will make connection to the internet possible across much of Barcelona. There will be some restrictions such as access to inappropriate sites but this service by the Council is a real boost to both residents and tourists alike. Our experience has shown that apartments with WiFi or access to the Internet is now one of the most requested requirements when people are renting an apatment or flat in Barcelona.

WiFi Connection Points

To connect to the free WiFi you need to have a signal available from the WiFi Hot Spot. You can check the location of the hotspots on a map and you can even check by entering the street name on a search facility. The map is available at Barcelona WiFi Hot Spots http://www.barcelonaflats.co.uk/apartments-with-barcelona-wi-fi.htm

Barcelona WiFi Password

Once you are in a hot spot, find the Barcelona WiFi network on your mobile device. The password you need to access the wifi is " Barcelona WiFi ".

Antoni Gaudí – was an architect from Catalonia, Spain, who belonged to the Modernisme (Art Nouveau) movement and was famous for his unique style and highly individualistic designs.

Gaudí, as an architecture student at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Arquitectura in Barcelona from 1873 to 1877, achieved only mediocre grades but did well in his "trial drawings and projects."[3] After five years of work, he was awarded the title of architect in 1878. As he signed Gaudí's title, Elies Rogent declared, "Qui sap si hem donat el diploma a un boig o a un geni: el temps ens ho dirà" ("Who knows if we have given this diploma to a nut or to a genius. Time will tell.")

The newly named architect immediately began to plan and design and would remain affiliated with the school his entire life.
